THE HISTORY OF PARKER-D FENCE: LEADING FENCE COMPANY
FOR GASTONIA, NC; CLOVER, SC; AND BEYOND

Jerry Dodgen bought the company in 1971 from Frank Parker, who had started the company in 1955. It was called Parker Fence Company at that time.  Jerry added the “D” and changed the name to Parker-D Fence. He also bought a 1930 A model truck with three rolls of wire fence loaded in the back and incorporated it as the new logo. Jerry Dodgen retired in 1998, that same year, the company moved to its present location of 526 N. Broad St. in Gastonia, NC.

Jerry’s son Rocky started working for his dad at age 12 after school, on weekends, and summers for $1.00/hr. Today, Rocky Dodgen is the president of Parker-D Fence and has over 38 years of experience building privacy fences, vinyl fences, gates, and more (the only job he’s ever had).

Parker-D Fence has 8 employees and takes pride in their work, having built thousands of fences across Gastonia, NC; Belmont, NC; Mount Holly, NC; Bessemer City, NC; Kings Mountain, NC; Lincolnton, NC; Charlotte, NC; Lake Wylie, NC; Dallas, NC; and Clover, SC.
